This is me and my project
This image shows my birthday and the sunset and water signal that I was born near water. The dock indicates that I love to go fishing. |
Lakeside Covers is the business that my dad owns and I do vinyl graphics there. These are my preliminaries. The drawings before the big project. |
This picture shows the trip from hot Alabama to cold Iowa. When I left that day it was 90 degrees and when I got to Iowa it was 10 below zero. |
Timeline Reflection (1C) Aug. 31, 2012
I think the strong points of my timeline is the flow of color, mutliple mediums, and lack of white space because the color all followed in one direction and my lines were very clear in what I did.
I could, to make my project better, use more detail in some spots and focused on other things instead of the giant sketches that I did.
The attributes showing unity in my project was focused on me and my life and interests. One detail is the sunset over the beach with my birth date above indicating my birth and that I was born near the water. I am originally from Alabama. The 2nd sketch shows the trip from Alabama to Iowa. It was very hot when we left and as the more north we went the temp would drop and by the time we got to Iowa it was 10 below zero. My 3rd sketch shows my jobs that I am a part of. The first is the Quick Shop and the second is a vinyl decal of Lakeside Covers to show what I do there.
The colors I used were purposely different to show the breaks and hardships in the design to indicate those that you have in life. The dominant color are mostly warm colors with big accents of cool colors.
To show rhythm, I used lines that all went the same way none of my lines skewed off from the rest. The color all went from the left to right going with the length of the paper.
In this project, I learned that if you need an example of something look it up and the make it your own. As a lesson to life, I learned to be on time with everything and keep on task.
In creating my timeline, the steps I took were very common. The first steps I did was sketching the drawings then coloring and outlining them. Most of my sketches were planned but some were different from the drawings in the book.
I believe this is a worth while project because it allowed me to tell about my life. I think maybe students could be pushed to use different mediums. I say this because I think this will give people a sense of individualism.
