Kite Reflection (6-D): February 4, 2013
The strong parts of my kite is the unique shape and design on the kite.
My weak points in my kite is the frame because it needs to be finished.
The theme of my kite is outside of the normal because it isn't a normal shape i.e. like a triangle or square. I chose to do it this way because I wanted to something different.
The shape of my kite is an arrow but the end of the kite comes to a point instead. I selected this shape because I would hear pilot chatter and a term they used was " Point of Flight" I thought it would be a good idea to use this because I have a passion for airplanes.
The colors I used were blue, green, red, and orange. I used both families of of color to counteract eachother. I chose to do it this way because contrast will draw attention.
Kite building was a challenge for me because it takes precise and a very high amount of detail to make it flow add up. The positives I learned are that ink and tyvek blend well but they also can bleed onto an area near it. A negitive effect of this project that I learned is that detail takes time.
In this project I learned to take time in coloring and stay on the ball with aby design aspect and that the dowels aren't the strongest material to used but they hold up great for kites.
